7 Steps to Glass Skin: Achieving That Luminous Korean Glow
We’ve all heard about how Korean women look after their skin and the skincare market is awash with new products to help us achieve that much sought after Korean Glow. In fact so much so that the term “K Beauty” relating to the phenomenon which is so prized in Korea is now part of the beauty vocabulary. So what do we need to do ? As with most things, the luminous Korean Glow cannot be achieved overnight, rather through regular use of a number of key steps in your beauty routine. Below you will find the seven steps to help achieve the look. However, these need to be followed regularly, and step 7 is so important it really needs not to be overlooked.
1. Start with Double-Cleansing
First things first: cleanse your skin well. To get rid of dirt, makeup, and other stuff from the day, use two kinds of cleansers. You will need to use both an oil based cleanser and a facial wash to use with water. Start with the oil-based product, for example a makeup remover oil or balm which breaks down the makeup. A good one for example is the Clinique “Take off the day” cleanser. After generously applying to your face all over, remove using cotton pads or a clean, hot cloth.

Next use a mild facial wash (recommended products include the Caudalie Vinoclean facial foam or Cewe or Uriage “Creme Lavante” facial wash to cleanse your skin gently.

2. Gentle Exfoliation Is Key
Once a week (or up to twice a week if your skin is not sensitive), gently use a facial scrub. Use a product with acids like AHA or BHA to get rid of dead skin and make your skin fresh. This step should be done carefully so you don’t hurt your skin.
3. Refresh with Toner
After exfoliating, calm your skin with a toner. Splash it on and pat it in with your hands. This helps your skin get ready for the next products.
4. Hydrate with a Serum
Serum is like a magic step for glass skin. Pick one that matches what your skin needs, like vitamin C for brightness or niacinamide for texture. But the key is to find a serum with hyaluronic acid – it’s great for keeping your skin hydrated.
5. Choose the Right Moisturizer
Now, it’s time for moisturizer. If your skin gets oily, find one that doesn’t make your skin shiny. If you have dry skin, go for a cream that’s rich and comforting. And use a sheet mask once a week for extra deep moisturization.

6. Laser Treatments for That Extra Boost
If you want to take it up a notch, consider laser resurfacing. It’s a special kind of treatment that can make your skin look better in just a few goes. It helps reduce scars, calm redness, and even out your skin tone by making more collagen and elastic fibres in your skin.
7. Daily Sunscreen Application
This step is abslutely crucial. Every morning, apply sunscreen, ideally factor 50. It prevents damage from the sun which can ruin all your hard work and it keeps your skin protected, which is essential for maintainng that glass skin look.

Achieving glass skin isn’t just about one or two steps; it’s a combination of a careful cleansing routine, precise exfoliation, and layering hydrating products to maintain a balanced, clear, and luminous complexion. And, sometimes, a little help from professional treatments can go a long way. Remember to be gentle with your skin and consistent with your skincare regimen.
