Experience Adventure and Adrenaline in Villars & Les Diablerets
This Summer why not try something new and different in Switzerland? The region around Villars and Les Diablerets have got some terrific ideas – we’ve chosen four suggestions we think you will love!
The Alpine Coaster at Glacier 3000
The Alpine Coaster at Glacier 3000 is only open in Summer and is the highest bob-sled run in the world! It’s open for both adult and children and is a really fun experience! I went on it whilst visiting the Peak Walk at Glacier 3000 and although I was a little hesitant the first time round, I soon got into my stride and really enjoyed it!

It loops around in a 520° spiral, has 10 bends of varying gradients, 6 waves and 3 jumps! Going up to a maximum speed of 40 km/hour, the Alpine Coaster is guaranteed to raise your heart rate and is a lot of fun!
It’s easy to manoeuvre and children over 9 can go on it on their own as long as they are 130cm tall. You simply use the brake to go faster or slower. As you’re over six metres from the ground, you feel weightless and also get some really good views of the glacier. You just need to keep at least 25 metres behind the toboggan in front. Children over 3 can ride with an adult or older child (or two adults can ride together ) and safety belts must be worn.

Paragliding In The Villars Les Diablerets Region
If you fancy getting a bird’s eye view of the landscape surrounding Villars and Les Diablerets there is only one thing for it – why not go paragliding? If you’ve never been paragliding before the schools here are all ready to help you make your maiden voyage. However, if you’re experienced most of them offer you the choice of either a tandem or solo flight.
In fact there are launch sites all over the Vaudois Alps. One very dramatic option is to take off at 3,000 metres from Glacier 3000 for the most stunning scenery. Do be warned though, it’s supposed to be very addictive!
Paragliding Info
There are a number of Paragliding Schools operating all over the region and you can see a list of them all here.
Prices to vary but are usually in the region of CHF 150 – but do check each one to be sure.

A Walk On The Peak Walk By Tissot At Glacier 3000
This is quite mild in comparison to the previous three suggestions. However, if you are nervous about heights it may still give you an adrenaline rush. The views from across the bridge are absolutely phenomenal and you can see for miles.
You can read this article for more information about the experience.
